New CE Policies, Updates and Reminders
- CE Exemption: A licensee who is in active practice as a COSMETOLOGIST and has at least 20 years of consecutive years of experience as a cosmetologist is exempt from the continuing education requirement
- Online payments for CE classes are now accepted! By clicking: Online CE Payment you can submit both the required electronic attendance form and your payment. We will transition to this electronic system over the summer and July 31, 2007 is the final date for non-electronic payments. Both the ID and Pin are your four digit CE number.
- CE credits have been expanded to the internet and correspondence courses. Cosmetologists will be permitted to earn up to 12 hours of internet CE hours per licensing cycle. Manicurists and estheticians will be permitted to earn up to 4 hours per licensing cycle.
- A new method has been created for CE Providers to submit course listings for the Board's online class information page. On the Continuing Education page a link has been created for CE Providers to list upcoming class information. Providers can enter and edit information for all of their scheduled classes, submit it for review and the listing will generally post to the website within 24-48 hours. DO NOT LIST COURSES NOT YET APPROVED BY THE BOARD.
- Individuals age 60 or older with 10 years of work experience are exempted from CE with the exception of teacher licenses.
- Programs shall not be approved in segments of less than two hours.
- Courses will be valid for a two year period beginning Januay 1, 2010. All previously approved courses must be submitted for re-approval.
